Volunteer
We rely on the invaluable contributions of volunteers, who play an integral role in fulfilling every part of our mission. Our goal is to offer volunteers unique and diverse opportunities that not only assist them in advancing their academic, professional, or personal aspirations but also inspire them to be stewards within their community.
Volunteer Teams
Animal Care Team
Animal Care Volunteers help keep our wildlife patients happy, healthy, and on the road to recovery. Volunteers work hands-on with a diverse array of Colorado species, providing vital husbandry and medical care.
Education Team
Education volunteers inspire their community by attending and facilitating classroom programs, outreach events, and professional presentations. In addition to teaching the public about wildlife, coexistence, and our mission, Education Volunteers are responsible for the care, training, and management of our ambassador animals.
Transport Team
Transport volunteers play a crucial role in getting wildlife patients to where they need to be. They assist in inter-facility transfers, releases, and some local transports for rehabilitation centers across the state of Colorado.
Youth Team
Youth Volunteers get the chance to be wildlife heroes while learning valuable skills like responsibility, initiative, and teamwork. They help care for patients, train ambassadors, and attend community events alongside our staff and volunteers.
Other Volunteering Opportunities
Community Service
The Community Service Program allows community members to complete court-ordered volunteer hours while making a difference for wildlife. Tasks may include cleaning, maintenance, administrative work, and others.
Please note: The Community Service Program is completely seperate from all other volunteer teams and programs. Court-ordered volunteers are not permitted to interact with patients.
We do not accept volunteers with animal-related or violent crimes. If you have questions about the Community Service Program, please use the form below.

Our Independent Study Program is designed for volunteers seeking to complete short-term projects or fulfill specific hour requirements.
