Colorado Amphibians

All together, over 17 different species of amphibians can be found living in Colorado! Amphibians are some of the most fragile species within an ecosystem and require water for proper respiratory and skin health. Toads have thicker skin that is better at retaining water than other species, which allows them to venture further away from the water source, but not much further.
